Requirements

The Farmigton library installation is an installation, not an art show. That means we have to take into consideration how the room is used.

  • scout meetings community
  • meetings projctor and sitting area
  • pre-school library programs

You can visit the Farmington Library website by clicking here

The art form must have the ability to transform the room without affecting the multiple uses of the room. These requirements coupled with the desire for all of our art projects to push engagement and anticipation help define our choices for the language elements we will be pushing in this installation.

Language elements possibilities are:

  • scale - 45' long object that wrapps around wall above piano
  • subtle voices - random blirps from 5 locations within the art work that are wisper quiet. must actually be within 3 feet to hear them.
  • Puddles of color/art - new facet based implementation of suspending the interacting elements
  • video - possible on space where procjector screen is, retract screen and show on flat boards
  • Neon backlight for splash lighting LED based lighting (10+ dots of colors with a random shooting color sequence or slow mood lighting changes
  • Neon as backlight
  • Infinity reflector as a facet material
  • etc...

pre installation shot... any ideas...
